What would Santa be without his elves? Elves are vital to making toys and keeping the North Pole running smoothly for Santa. So of course, I had to add an elf house to my North Pole plastic canvas Christmas village.
For my elf house, I used a Luvlee Designs plastic canvas pattern called Elf House (#LL1176). I don’t believe that company is in business anymore, but you can sometimes find their patterns or kits around on eBay or Etsy.
I think the Christmas tree in the picture window is such a cute detail on this pattern and I love the texture of the roof. This house makes a nice addition to my Christmas village.
I named the little elf house Jingle Bell Lodge. I printed the building name on some cardstock and made a plastic canvas frame to go around it. I hot glued a plastic candy cane above the window to hang my sign.
With a name like Jingle Bell Lodge, I had to use some jingle bells to decorate the house. So I glued a row of the bells underneath the balcony.
I glued a strand of miniature Christmas Lights to the roof line. The Christmas lights that are dollhouse sized work perfectly for village displays.
I added a mini snowman figure to the balcony. They are available on Amazon, but I am not sure where mine came from – he was in my village decorations stash.
Every year after Christmas, I go hit up all the local craft stores clearance section and buy up any of the miniature decorations that I think will work well to decorate my little buildings.
I added two little elf figurines I had in my stash. Although most of my figures are from the Department 56 North Pole Village line, I am not sure who made these.
I just love this little guy with his huge stack of presents. Hopefully they don’t topple over!
Instead of using a bottle brush tree in this display, I used a gumdrop tree. I think I got it at Michaels a few years ago but you can find cute gumdrop trees for your Christmas village on Amazon.
Pin this Jingle Bell Lodge post for later:
While you are here, be sure to check out the rest of my plastic canvas North Pole Christmas Village. So tell me… Have you been making any plastic canvas Christmas crafts this year?
